At Hess Psychological Services, we specialize in providing comprehensive assessments to better understand and address related to mental health concerns. ADHD Symptoms
ADHD can show up in a variety of ways. It doesn’t always look like hyperactivity and can differ quite a bit depending on if you’re a child or an adult. Some of the most common symptoms of ADHD include the following:
- Impulsiveness
- Disorganization
- Problem with time management
- Problems focusing on a task
- Trouble multitasking
- Restlessness
- Poor planning skills
Diagnosing ADHD
Before we treat ADHD, we first must make a diagnosis, and that’s where the evaluation comes in. As a mental health professional, Dr. Hess will ask you a series of questions and run through a few ADHD tests to help you determine if you are struggling with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or another mental disorder. Dr. Hess uses the criteria laid out in the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5).
